Quality of Life Counselling and Caring is all about giving you the tools to get the most out of your life.

I initially set up my counselling practice as End of Life Counselling and Caring, but have since come to realize that it's more about the quality of all of our lives, those who are in apparent good health, but scraping through rough patches, as well as those with life-altering &/or life-threatening illnesses.

Life has taken my path across many people that find themselves in some of life's tough spots, ranging from divorces, being single parents, job loss, cancer diagnoses (including the long journey from diagnosis through treatment and transplant) and I have been honored to travel these journeys with a vast number of people and seen them come out the other end in a far better place than where I met them.

I also find working with patients and their families after having received terminal diagnoses to be rewarding (even though sometimes bittersweet), helping them to come to terms with what lies ahead, preparing for the inevitable and being able assist them to make the most of the time that they have left.

Everyone deserves the very highest QUALITY OF LIFE possible, and I find being the support person or the go-to person in these circumstances to be rewarding and I look forward to working with many more people to allow them to achieve the QUALITY OF LIFE that we all deserve.

About Us

We are here to help negotiate the tough spots that life throws into our paths from time to time.

Whether you are trying to pick up the pieces after the end of a relationship, or cope with the stresses of everyday life, we are here to help.  Just having someone to talk to often helps you find your way back to a meaningful place.

Trying to make sense of medical diagnosis and how it will change your life is another thing that is dificult to come to terms with.  Whether you have been diagnosed with life-changing illness, a long-term illness, or you have been given a terminal diagnosis, having someone to turn to that can understand how you are feeling and help you negotiate a path forward is a tremendous relief.

When you lose a loved one, whether it be a grandparent, parent, spouse, partner, child or dear friend, it can be difficult to make sense of anything.  Everyone copes with grief and bereavement differently, and while finding your own way of coping you can sometimes use some help from someone that can help you make sense of your feelings and  offer direction to what will become your 'new' normal.  You are not expected move on and forget, we will  find ways to move forward and remember the happy times, and cherish those special  memories, while finding new motivation and inspiration for moving forward.

My initial interest in Palliative Care & counselling came about when I travelled the journey with my husband from terminal diagnosis to death.  Our Palliative team opened my eyes to the assistance they can provide and allowed me to see the need for Counsellors and end of Life Doulas to help support patients and their families during their journeys.

Following my Husband’s death I enrolled in and completed a Diploma of Counselling, following which I have researched and completed several Palliative and End of Life Doula Courses, have become a Certified Hypnotherapist, have undertaken a course in Understanding Dementia, as well as completing a certificate course in Grief and Bereavement Support.

Along with the further education and the fact that I ‘have been there & done that’, it is now an honour to be there for others and lend whatever support and assistance I can during these emotional journeys.  I found it helpful to have someone available to talk to and ask questions of, I now find it rewarding to be able to do this for others.

I would be honoured to meet you and see if I could lend assistance during your personal journeys. I am located on the Bellarine Peninsula, but am willing to travel throughout the region or connect to anyone, anywhere via Skype, Facetime, Messenger or by phone.

You can reach me anytime by phone, email, FB Messenger or by using the form on the "Contact us" page on this website.
